Sometimes it is the simply ideas, well executed, that are the most charming and pleasing.  Sure, you can probably come up with far more efficient uses of spaces, but OOO My Design’s PinPres looks like a delight to arrange and re-arrange.

PinPres is a kid’s room shelf that makes the act of sorting up the room a playful experience where the shelf adopts its form to the toys, books and other things that are being stored.  Its the only shelf that will make your kid actually want to clean up and declutter the room!

I’m not sure this is the best way to store books, but it certainly is an attractive design choice.

Young Italian designer Marica Vizzuso has designed B-OK, a space-saving alternative to the usual bookshelf. Vizzuso asks, “Why do you place books in a conventional way when you can have both an amusing and aesthetically interesting alternative?” The shelving system is constructed like a giant tower, yet unfolds into a room divider. Instead of stacking books side-by-side, you pile books on top of one another into a variety of slots.

Minimal with a light industrial touch, I like the way this twist shelving puts the emphasis on what is on the shelves. Not sure if furniture from Milan is in my budget, but the design does have me looking at DIY version. Time for a trip to Home Depot!
