No its not a pistol range for folks that think Predator is a real threat to our planet any day now. Its actually an art installation by Scottish sculptor Rob Mulholland.
The essence of who we are as individuals in relationship to others and our given environment forms a strong aspect of my artistic practice. In Vestige I wanted to explore this relationship further by creating a group, a community within the protective elements of the woods, reflecting the past inhabitants of the space.

These 22 unique pieces of metal type have been cleaned of the sticky ink, polished and varnished to enhance its rich patina and wear. The type has flaws and marks in the metal from the printing process. It has been drilled and attached to an elastic band with metal spring beads. It’s industrial and delicate.

Although my first impression was of something even more impressive (living bio-luminescent jelly fish) these are still quite lovely in a surreal sort of way. And a couple notches above the ubiquitous lava lamp on my personal trippy meter.
